Please note that we are a Low Noise Policy site and noise must be kept to a minimum between the hours of 10:00 pm and 9:00 am to respect our neighbours and other glampers. Music is only allowed inside the pods and wagons and must not be heard outside.
Checking in and checking out times
Your railway wagon or glamping pod will be available after 3pm on your arrival day. Please do not arrive before 3pm because your accommodation will not be ready. Check out is strictly before 11am on your departure day and you must have vacated the site. Cars may be left in the car park by prior arrangement but we ask that you do not stay to use communal facilities on the site.
Communal facilities on site
Communal facilities include;
- Outdoor covered dome with seating – Games cupboard, Outdoor lanterns, portable bbqs
- Outdoor Cooking area including Fire pits & outdoor seating – Fire Pit Kits containing firewood, kindling, firelighter and matches & BBQ Kits containing charcoal, firelighter and matches can be purchased for £5 per item from the glamping telephone number up to 8pm at night.
All fires must be fully extinguished by 10.30pm for insurance reasons.
- Kitchen (see below under food and drink)
- Toilet & shower block– There are 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 basins in the Gents and the same in the Ladies. There is also an inclusive family wet room with an all inclusive shower, toilet and basin.
- Studio Snug – Cosy indoor seating, dining area with bookshelf, games and activity cupboard
- Overnight cycle store – (use must be pre-arranged) bikes can be left in a locked store but they are left at your own risk.
Parking
Please park in the designated car park area at the entrance to the site. If the stoned car park is full, you may park your car on the grass by the hedge next to the car park. We ask that you do not drive across the site unless you have prior permission to ensure that the site is safe for children and dogs.
Keys
We do not have a reception office on site so instructions on how you can get the key to your pod/wagon are included above. Please make yourselves at home when you arrive but if you do need any assistance when you are on site, don’t hesitate to contact the glamping telephone number which above or is in the communal kitchen on site.
When you leave on your final day, please leave the key in the outside door of your glamping pod or railway wagon. For lost keys, we will have to charge a fee of £15 for a replacement.
Damage
Should any damage occur while you are here on site please report it immediately to our glamping team either in person or use the glamping telephone number. We will charge a fee to repair the damage, the level of which will depend on the damage caused, which you will be liable for.
Visitors
Visitors are NOT allowed on to site unless you have pre-arranged permission by one the duty manager. Only guests listed on the original booking confirmation are permitted onto site for insurance reasons. Pre-arranged visitors may be allowed on site between the hours of 9am and 8pm at an additional cost of £20 per visitors car but they are not allowed on site between the hours of 8pm and 9am.
Electric vehicles
We have 1 external 3-pin socket which may be used by prior arrangement for charging electric cars. Cars must not be charged anywhere else on site. If more than one customer needs to use the charging point at the same time, allocated time slots will be given to you. There will be a charge of £7 for a charge of up to 5 hours or £14 for a charge of over 5 hours.
Essentials for you to bring
- Duvets and pillows if you have not booked our bedding bundle service which provides all bedding for your stay at just £15 per set. Please ask do not hesitate to book one with us for your stay.
- A torch – whilst there are sensor lights on each pod & on the amenities block, you will need a torch for moving around the main Glamping site in the dark
- Towels and toiletries
Food and drink
There is a small kitchen at Yorkshire Wolds Glamping which has a communal fridge/freezer, additional fridge, microwave, toaster and a kettle. Plates, cups, cutlery, glassware, cutlery, plastic cups and glasses will be available in the kitchen for you to use. Please wash using the washing up liquid provided and dry the items you have used ready for other glampers to use. If you require any other kitchen items for your stay then don’t hesitate to contact us.
Feel free to use any of the facilities but please clean the kitchen after you have used it ready for the next person. Please be aware of allergies when preparing your food and wipe up any spills immediately. The kitchen will be cleaned with disinfectant at least once a day.
We encourage you to cook on the fire pits, glamping barbeques or on your own disposable BBQs but we ask that you stick to the stoned cooking area to save the grass being damaged. Please do not place any disposable BBQs on any of our wooden tables, benches or shelves. Any damage to these or to the grass etc caused by disposable BBQs or other portable cooking equipment must be paid for.
We have 3 permanent fire pits but if they are all in use, please ask and you can borrow a moveable firepit. Any gas cookers MUST be used at least 6 metres away from any of the glamping pods, railway wagons or other buildings for fire safety and insurance reasons.
The nearest village shop is 4 miles away in Sherburn. The nearest large supermarkets are either in the Market towns of Malton, Driffield or the seaside towns of Filey, Bridlington or Scarborough all of which are approximately 12 miles away.
Pubs
Both pubs in the village, The Star Inn and The Blue Bell serve excellent food and are just a 2 minute walk from the Glamping site. Both pubs are dog friendly. If you want to eat at either pub, please phone in advance to check their opening times and it would be worthwhile booking a table.

Around the site
The Glamping site is based in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds and is surrounded by a small farm so please expect to hear farm animal and wildlife sounds. We are passionate about creating wildlife habitats please do not touch, move or disturb any of these habitats or their inhabitants. Many of the hedges are allowed to grow wild with nettles, wildflowers and the hawthorn and blackthorn trees which, are native to British hedges have very sharp thorns so please be careful not to injure yourselves. We are an award winning Dog Friendly site, dogs should be under control at all times and remain on a leash while on our site unless you are taking part on one of our activity stays. Please clean up after your dog/dogs, extra dog poo bags are located around the site for your convenience.
General Guidelines
Any procedures that we have put in place are for the safety of our staff, all of our glampers and of the local population. Anyone ignoring any procedures or putting others at risk will be asked to leave the site. Anyone in your party with Covid should not travel to our site.
Glamping Site Rules
We would be grateful if you could stick to our campsite rules to make yours and other glampers stay a good one.
- A strict 5 mph speed limit operates at all times. Care should be taken when leaving the site onto the lane and gaining access onto the main highway. Cars entering the site should park in the parking area near the entrance and should not drive around the site.
- Please be aware that no scavenged wood from the site should be used in either the log burners or fire pits. Only log burner kits purchased from Yorkshire Wolds Glamping should be used in our log burners to prevent damage from pests or unseasoned wood to our log burners or railway wagon’s wooden structure.
- Smoking is not permitted in any of the building including railway wagons, glamping pods, amenities block or any of the decking areas, nor is it permitted in the covered dome. Cigarette disposal units are provided around the site for you to use.
- Dogs are only welcome on site by prior arrangement and should be well behaved and under control at all times. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on site unless it is a designated dog activity weekend. No dogs other than service dogs are permitted inside the amenities block.
- Dogs must not be left inside the railway wagons or glamping pods without supervision or while owners are offsite. Dogs can be tethered to the posts rings on the decking areas but not to the spindles. Please do not tether your dogs to trees or bushes.
- Please respect our neighbours and other glampers by keeping noise to a minimum at all times. Our guests enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being in the countryside and we have a low noise policy particularly after 10pm and before 9am. Music is only allowed inside the glamping pods or railway wagons and must not be heard outside. If you are sitting out at night, please be aware that noise carries easily so please keep voices to a low tone.
- No parties are permitted on site.
- Glampers should bring their own torches for use on site although low level lights on sensors are available outside each railway wagon and glamping pod and outside the amenity block.
- Please respect other glamper’s privacy. Please do not enter or let your dog/s or children enter other glamping pods or railway wagons without prior permission.
- External gas bottles for cooking purposes are only permitted on site at least 6 metres away from any building.
- Glampers in the railway wagons or glamping pods are requested not to use the front of their wagon/pod for a fire or BBQ. A communal outdoor cooking and picnic area is provided for use by all glampers on site.
- BBQ’s are the responsibility of the glamper; remember the coals and embers stay hot well after your food is cooked so please double check that they are completely extinguished after use, and should be disposed of in the metal bin with lid which is located in the bin/recycling area.
- Naked flames, including candles or cake sparklers are not permitted inside the railway wagons or glamping pods. Open fires of any kind (other than in the fire pits on site) are strictly forbidden as is the discharge of fireworks and chinese lanterns on the glamping site and surrounding areas.
- Only guests listed on the original booking confirmation are permitted on to site for insurance reasons. Any visitors coming to the Yorkshire Wolds Glamping site must have prior permission by the glamping site team, payment received of £20 per car and are only allowed on the site between the hours of 9am and 8pm.
- General conduct: If in our opinion anyone staying on our glamping site is considered to be of unreasonable behaviour, causing annoyance to other glampers or our neighbours they will be asked to leave immediately with no right to a refund.
